FEM: Virtual prototypes in perfection

Hard facts you can rely on.

While we look at the inner values using flow simulation (CFD), the finite element method (FEM) is used to check the hard facts. Already in the design stage, components are analysed with regard to material strength, natural frequencies or service life. For this purpose, virtual models are created that are subjected to complex load situations with regard to structure, vibration and temperature. From this, you obtain target-oriented knowledge about the constructive nature of the components without having to build a single prototype. This way you can clearly see where and how you can optimise your products with regard to:
Strength & Material Efficiency
Dynamics & Vibration
Structural Mechanics
Magnetic Field & Thermal Field Transfer
Short-Time Dynamics & Virtual Crash Tests
Acoustics & NVH
Lightweight Construction
With optimally coordinated simulation tools, both routine tasks and complex development projects can be realised regardless of the industry:
▪︎ Statics - linear and non-linear
▪︎ Dynamics
▪︎ Thermomechanics
▪︎ Forming simulation
▪︎ Strength verification & verifiable statics
▪︎ Fluid-structure interaction
▪︎ Calculation of coupled systems
▪︎ Programming of calculation routines
▪︎ Fatigue strength calculations
▪︎ Topology optimisation & shape optimisation

CFD & FEM an unbeatable double

In order to be able to offer versatile simulation expertise from a single source, we work closely with the FEM and vibration experts at Wölfel Engineering. As a well-coordinated team, we combine FEM and CFD results and hand-in-hand derive resilient solutions for the design of components. You receive highly realistic simulation results and ultimately know exactly what stresses plant components, machines and other structures really have to withstand when flows act on them.
